A Daywise Ladakh Trail Through Passes, Valleys, Villages & Lakes
Your Ladakh group journey begins with arrival at Leh Airport, followed by hotel check-in and a relaxed acclimatization day to adjust to the high altitude. The next day is dedicated to Leh’s local gems, including Spituk Monastery, Hall of Fame Museum, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam Point, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. The adventure then moves towards Nubra Valley via the famous Khardung La Pass, with visits to Diskit Monastery and the beautiful Hunder Sand Dunes. On the following day, enjoy a scenic excursion to Turtuk Village, known for its Balti culture, borderland charm and unique local lifestyle, before returning to Nubra for the night. The route then continues towards the breathtaking Pangong Lake via the Shyok River route, passing through Durbuk and Tangtse villages, with time to enjoy the magical sunset by the lake. From Pangong, return to Leh via Chang La Pass, visiting Rancho School, Shey Monastery and Thiksey Monastery en route. Arrive at Leh Airport, where you will be received and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the day is kept light and relaxed so that you can rest and adjust to Ladakh’s high altitude. After breakfast, begin your local exploration of Leh. Visit Spituk Monastery, followed by the inspiring Hall of Fame Museum, dedicated to the Indian Army. Continue towards Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, experience the famous Magnetic Hill, and witness the beautiful meeting point of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam Point. Later, visit Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa, and enjoy some free time at Leh Market in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, start your scenic drive towards Nubra Valley through the iconic Khardung La Pass, one of Ladakh’s most celebrated high-altitude routes. On arrival in Nubra, visit the peaceful Diskit Monastery and continue towards the famous Hunder Sand Dunes, known for their cold desert landscape and unique mountain backdrop. After breakfast, proceed for a beautiful day excursion to Turtuk Village, one of the last Indian villages near the border. The drive offers dramatic landscapes and a glimpse into Ladakh’s remote beauty. At Turtuk, explore the local lifestyle, traditional homes and rich Balti culture, which gives the village a very distinct identity. Later, return to Nubra Valley for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Pangong Lake through the scenic Shyok River route. Drive past rugged valleys and remote villages such as Durbuk and Tangtse, before reaching the stunning lake known for its changing shades of blue. Spend time admiring the peaceful lake views and enjoy the beautiful sunset by Pangong. Dinner and overnight stay at Pangong.
After breakfast, start your return journey to Leh via the majestic Chang La Pass. En route, visit the famous Rancho School / Druk White Lotus School, followed by Shey Monastery and Thiksey Monastery, both known for their spiritual atmosphere and beautiful architecture. On reaching Leh, spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Leh.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed for your transfer to Leh Airport. The journey concludes with unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s high passes, monasteries, valleys, cold deserts, lakes and the beautiful bond of a group mountain adventure.
